Established in 1995 by Fort Worth voters, the Crime Control Prevention District (CCPD) allocates a dedicated half-cent sales tax to fund strategic programs focused on reducing crime and preventing it before it occurs. Governed by a board of community leaders, the CCPD oversees funding decisions guided by citywide priorities and data-driven outcomes. Fort Worth residents retain the opportunity to vote on the continuation of the district, reflecting sustained public trust in its positive impact.
The City of Fort Worth Police Department is also partnering with United Way of Tarrant County (UWTC) to expand the reach and effectiveness of the CCPD Grant Initiative.
The CCPD Grant Initiative funds a variety of programs focused on violence prevention, youth mentoring, workforce readiness, and trauma recovery—all aimed at building safer neighborhoods and healthier communities. By concentrating on prevention and intervention, CCPD grants empower local nonprofits to build trust, reduce recidivism, and create lasting impact.
