Tarrant Area Food Bank (TAFB) is the primary source of donated food for hunger-relief charities and feeding programs in Tarrant and 12 other North Texas counties. In this region and in Tarrant County, 1 of 4 children is hungry or at risk of hunger. About 1 in 7 of the region’s residents receive food assistance from pantries and meal programs supported by TAFB. To relieve local hunger, TAFB distributes fresh, frozen and nonperishable groceries equivalent to over 2 million meals per month to pantries and meal programs. In an average month, these feeding programs serve over 53,000 households, or nearly 168,000 individuals. For low-income households, TAFB also offers feeding programs for children and seniors, nutrition education, culinary job training and community gardening expertise. Tarrant Area Food Bank is a certified affiliate of Feeding America, the nation’s largest network of regional food banks. Learn more at www.tafb.org and on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and YouTube.
